Aging Demonstration Programs

NAPCA has undertaken a number of projects that benefit AAPI elders. A partial listing of projects includes:
 
A project targeting health disparities among Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) elders under a grant from the Administration on Aging;
 
The establishment of a toll free multilingual Helpline to assist limited English speaking AAPI elders enroll in Medicare Part D; 
 
Providing information about Medicare/Medicaid fraud and assisting AAPI elders in resolving billing errors;
 
The publication of "Ask NAPCA" columns addressing elders' benefits eligibility issues in Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese language newspapers throughout the United States;
 
The translation and dissemination of health care materials into seven Asian and Pacific Islander languages;
 
The Community Based Capacity Building Initiative which was directed at acquiring information and developing community action plans for the unique social and health service needs of AAPI elders;
 
The "Dual Eligible Video Project" promoting Medicare Savings Programs for low-income AAPI seniors funded by Health Care Financing Administration (currently known as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services).
