NAPCA’s Tribute to Prepedigma Cora Pacis McDonnell

By January 24, 2022SCSEP

NAPCA would like to pay tribute to Cora Pacis McDonnell who passed away in December 2021. She had the distinction of being the longest serving member of the NAPCA team with over nineteen years of uninterrupted service. She joined NAPCA as a part-time SCSEP Participant and through hard work and a fierce work ethic, NAPCA was rewarded with an incredible new hire, as Cora worked her way into a full-time permanent position at NAPCA’s Seattle Headquarters. Cora’s commitment and dedication to NAPCA’s mission was recognized in 2007, when she was awarded the “Outstanding Older Workers Award” for the State of Washington.

In June 2021, she testified at the Social Security Subcommittee hearing on “Equity in Social Security: In Their Own Words.” Her testimony helped facilitate the ratification of the largest expansion in the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) to Social Security in over 40 years.

Cora was devoted to God, her family and community.  She was a special friend to many and will always be revered for her commitment to NAPCA and the AANHPI community that she so loved. We celebrate her life, legacy, and memory. She will be forever missed. Thank you, Cora.
