Many national, regional, and community-based organizations are capable of providing in-language information and assistance on Medicare and other benefits. To facilitate access to these resources, we’ve included the following directories:
(1) A list of State Health Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIP) by state. SHIP is a national program that offers one-on-one counseling and assistance to people with Medicare and their families. Many of these SHIP programs offer this service in AAPI languages, either through counselors who speak AAPI languages, or through partnerships with AAPI- serving community based organizations.
(2) A list of Benefits Enrollment Centers around the country that help low-income people with Medicare access programs that pay for healthcare, food, and more. Some of these programs offer services in AAPI languages.
(3) Instructions on how to request free interpreter services from the Social Security Administration.
