Physical Science Technician

General Summary
This position supports the EPA Region 10 Laboratory Field Team with technical functions including field sampling, sample preparation, data management, and equipment maintenance and calibration.
Qualifications:
55 years of age and older (in accordance with Public Law 98-313 and the Older American Workers Act)
a US citizen
be eligible to work in the US
Minimum of 2 years of experience in field sampling or BA/BS in Science
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist with collecting of environmental samples (air, water, soil) and deploy monitoring equipment in the field.
Assist with recording and organizing technical data, update databases and help draft summary reports.
Help maintain check calibration, install and troubleshoot environmental monitoring instruments.
Assist with incremental sampling methodology sample preparation including drying, sieving.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is in support of a Federally funded Employment Program with a defined hourly rate
