The National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA) is seeking candidates 55 years of age and older for the position of Environmental Protection Specialist with the U.S. EPA Senior Environmental Employment Program (SEE) IDEM/ Office of Water Quality/Waterways, and Stormwater Section Division.

General Summary

Will primarily assist the Stormwater Section with entering program data into the agency database to track applications and compliance dates. The individual will track data related to programs involved in the regulation of stormwater program permitting and reporting using several databases. The individual will also issue letters and conduct follow-up phone calls with customers related to applications and reporting. The individual will also perform quality assurance of data.

Qualifications:

• 55 years of age and older (in accordance with Public Law 98-313 and the Older American Workers Act)

• a US citizen

• be eligible to work in the US

• Minimum of 5 years of environmental sciences, finance, and or public administration or BA/BS in Science in Environmental Sciences preferred

• Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access and etc)

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assists with data entry of Industrial and Construction applications and reports into Tempo and nVIRO.

• Performs quality assurance on program data and when necessary, follow up with customers.

• General filing of reports and permits.

• Tracking data to ensure program compliance.

• Assists with reviewing industrial sampling reports and data.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is in support of a Federally funded Employment Program with a defined hourly rate
